Introduction

CPA Virtual was created because we felt there was a huge void in the virtual airline industry. How can there be no virtual airline representing Cathay Pacific, the best airline in the world? CPAV opened its doors on May 28, 2000.

CPA Virtual strives to be the benchmark for Asian based Virtual Airlines. Our pilots are the primary reason for our existence and we work hard to provide them with a first class virtual airline that they can be genuinely proud of. Our objective is simple: to be the best virtual airline based in Asia where our pilots stay for a long and exciting career!

We want our pilots to be some of the best in the virtual airline community. It is important for our pilots to be rated highly in flight safety and flying proficiency. This is even more important since Chek Lap Kok International is famous for its lousy weather and difficult wind conditions. Chek Lap Kok can be a real challenge (not to mention good old Kai Tak!). These goals are accomplished with experienced pilots, aircraft-specific type ratings and first class training. But don't be intimidated! We are not going to make things so hard that you can't enjoy yourself.

Last but definitely not least, we want to let you know that this virtual airline belongs to our pilots. After all we would be nothing without our most prized asset: our pilots! CPA Virtual is a friendly, warm and hospitable enterprise. We always welcome and encourage suggestions and feedback, so that we may continue to  suit our pilots needs in the best way possible.

On 29th November 2003 we introduced a totally new kind of a rank structure, providing pilots with even more challenge and realism. Big thanks to go one of our pilots, Jonathan Fenech, for developing a major part of the new system!

What Can We Offer You?

• Really cool automated pilot services using ASP technology and a robust SQL database. We use a high end dedicated Windows 2003 server with an SQL 2000 database. We don't use the free/cheap stuff like everyone else.

• Automated sign up process.  Pass the automated entrance exam, grab a pilot ID and you're good to go.  The only catch is that new members have to sign up with a valid email address.  Potential members will not be able to sign up with phony emails because our system weeds them out automatically.

• Advanced management portal where our management team can manage members, review PIREPs, do content management and everything else needed to run a virtual airline. Since it's all online, our management team can do this anywhere they have internet access.

• Our very own free FTG-ACARS program to automatically captures your flight information. Plus we offer full FS Flight Tracker and FS Flight Keeper ACARS integration. Two of the best ACARS programs on the market can be used to automatically submit flight reports.

• We get rid of inactive pilots. You will never see 100 active pilots out of 2000 members on our roster. Unlike other groups who keep inactive members on their roster, we closely monitor our membership activity.

• Flight schedules are integrated with real world schedules.  Our flight schedules will always be up to date thanks to real time / real world data.

• Advanced pilot logbook, with all kinds of statistics and really cool dynamic maps that show your latest flights.  Our pilots can edit/delete their own flight reports.

• Our rank system is based partly on seniority, just like the real airlines.

• A large community of active flight simulation fanatics from all over the world!

• We have one of the most active message boards compared to any other virtual airline, providing a large thriving flightsim community.

• Full access to all of our virtual airlines. Flights from all FTG virtual airlines are recorded in your pilot logbook.

• oneworld Alliance, Star Alliance & skyTeam codeshare programs offering a huge number of real world airline routes.

• Classic & Cargo Divisions featured at many of our virtual airlines.
