We offer our members a first class virtual airline experience using the latest technology and an experienced management team.

What is a Virtual Airline (VA)?

A virtual airline simulates a real-world airline, flying its own aircraft and routes in the virtual world of Flight Simulator. Pilots join the airline and choose flights which they then fly in Flight Simulator. After the flight, pilots report their flight in a Pilot Report (PIREP) on the CPA Virtual website, and the hours of the flight are automatically added to their logbook. As flight hours accumulate, pilots consequently progress through the ranks at the airline.

Instead of flying aimlessly in your flight simulator world, virtual airlines aim to bring together a community of FS pilots, and provide them with a fun and educational environment in which to fly.

About CPA Virtual

This virtual airline is operated by flight simulator enthusiasts and aviation buffs. We are also fans of Cathay Pacific Airways, their fascinating fleet and the marvellous city of Hong Kong. CPA Virtual operations mirror their real life counterpart, Cathay Pacific Airways. All routes are taken from their official timetables, giving us maximum realism. Pilots operate out of our super hub: Chek Lap Kok - Hong Kong International (VHHH).

CPA Virtual strives to be the benchmark for Asian based virtual airlines. Our objective is simple: To be the best virtual airline in Asia whose pilots are highly recognized by the virtual airline industry. These goals are accomplished with experienced pilots and an advanced aircraft type rating system.

Our website uses the latest technology for a virtual airline. We provide our pilots with a fully automated system allowing our pilots to log flights instantly. Our pilots have access to an automated roster, pilot submitted flight reports and individual pilot flight logs. We also provide on-line pilot type rating exams and check flights to ensure that our pilots are the best trained in the VA world.

Some of our services

Really cool automated pilot services using ASP technology and a robust SQL database. We use a high end dedicated Windows 2003 server with an SQL 2000 database. We don't use the free/cheap stuff like everyone else.
Automated sign up process. Pass the automated entrance exam, grab a pilot ID and you're good to go. The only catch is that new members have to sign up with a valid email address. Potential members will not be able to sign up with phony emails because our system weeds them out automatically.
Advanced management portal where our management team can manage members, review PIREPs, do content management and everything else needed to run a virtual airline. Since it's all online, our management team can do this anywhere they have internet access.
Our very own free FTG-ACARS program to automatically capture your flight information.
We get rid of inactive pilots. You will never see 100 active pilots out of 2000 members on our roster. Unlike other groups who keep inactive members on their roster, we closely monitor our membership activity.
Flight schedules are integrated with real world schedules from the amadeus.net database. Our flight schedules will always be up to date thanks to real time / real world data.
Advanced pilot logbook, with all kinds of statistics and really cool dynamic maps that show your latest flights. Our pilots can edit/delete their own flight reports.
Our rank system is based partly on seniority, just like the real airlines.

Applying for CPA Virtual membership

Joining and flying with CPA Virtual is absolutely free and involves no monetary exchange. The first step is to read our requirements. The second step is to take our automated entrance exam. To maintain our high standards we feel that applicants should have a basic knowledge about flying airliners. We feel that most dedicated flight simmers should have no problem with the exam and it should only take a few minutes. You will need to achieve 70% or better on our entrance exam. About the Flying Tigers Group - www.virtualairline.org

The Flying Tigers Group operates a conglomerate of virtual airlines. We recommend that you sign up with your favorite airline in our group. Once you sign up there is no need to sign up again with any of our other virtual airlines. You will be able to login and fly for all of our virtual airlines with one pilot ID. All flights, no matter which VA will be in your pilot logbook! It really makes no difference which virtual airline you choose, since you can fly for all of them. Virtual airlines redefined

In other virtual airlines when you become a pilot your only job is to complete a flight for the same airline. Day after day, month after month, year after year. For this reason many pilots choose to join several VA's or quit over time. Who would want to fly the same planes and routes all the time? Boring... but not with us!

This is where the Flying Tigers Group comes in. You can fly for all of our virtual airlines representing some of the best and most exotic airlines around the world. As a pilot you will be able to fly short island hops to exotic locations or even trans-Atlantic flights on the Concorde.

Because all of our VA's share our advanced automation features, a pilot only needs to sign up once. Then with a single pilot ID, a pilot can log in to all of our virtual airlines. What's really cool is that you can file a PIREP at any of our virtual airlines and it will always count towards your total flight hours and rank!
